Who we are

We provide vocational training, life, personal and leadership skills.

We registered Ask8 Skills Centre for Development on 3rd March 2020, as a Community-Based Organization in Kumi District. The Centre provides vocational training, life-skills, personal and leadership development to young people and young professionals in the Eastern part of the Country, where such services are few.

We achieve this through five main strategic interventions:

  • Strategic Objective 1: Provide Vocational Skills Training
  • Strategic Objective 2: Education & Workforce development
  • Strategic Objective 3: Sexual and Reproductive Health
  • Strategic Objective 4: Provide a platform to boost Social Entrepreneurship.

Our Value Add

Combination of rural and Urban focus

The two can not be divorced since they depend on each other. The interventions will target both the rural and urban populations.

Gender focus

We are investing in building a movement of conscious children and youth to aggressively tackle and challenge gender stereotypes. Our beneficiaries will be able to reflect on the question of patriarchy and unfair practices that limit the full potential of both girls and boys alike.

Youth-led innovative pedagogy

Our programs and especially our SRHR and life skills curricula, are built out on the peer-to-peer engagement model. We get young people to design, deliver and evaluate programs for young people. This way we build capacities for continued influencing as a sustainability mechanism.
